Cheyenne Jackson Instagram – @curtisleejamie took me to this yesterday and I’m still thinking about it. Installed along the bank of the Danube River in Budapest, conceived by Can Togay with sculptor Gyula Pauer, the monument consists of 60 pairs of 1940s-style shoes, true to life in size and detail, sculpted out of iron. It depicts the shoes left behind by the thousands of Jews who were murdered by the Arrow Cross. Forced to take off their shoes, shot, and then thrown into the river. | Posted on 17/May/2021 14:08:20
