David Göttler Instagram – The moment at which you cross from the Rupal side to the Diamir side of Nanga Parbat is a very special one. Looking down the enormous Diamir face, it’s possible to see some tiny dots on the valley floor that are the Base Camp of the normal route. Looking ahead, the endless, undulating traverse stretches before you.
This moment is still vivid in my mind and provides all the motivation I need to get stuck into my training back at home.
