John Lennon Instagram – GIVE PEACE A CHANCE.
I wrote ‘Give Peace a Chance’ because I felt an obligation as an artist to fight something for our generation, and our generation was interested in peace. I wanted them to have a song that was written this century for them to sing; so I sat down and wrote ‘Give Peace a Chance’. And I think in that way, and with Yoko’s help, and both of us promoting peace as we do, almost like a product, that we think we’ve helped get peace into people’s consciousness. Maybe our constituency, maybe the young people, I think we’ve been infiltrated also older minds as well. It is subliminal and sometimes you say something you don’t realise what you’re saying, you don’t even know the importance of what you’re saying until months later.
We don’t even know what this record will mean to people until next year or say two years’ time, then we’ll really know what it meant. | Posted on 18/Dec/2023 04:28:24
