Kevin Smith Instagram – Thanks to main character Brian David’s brandishing of a mini tape recorder, old school #Smodcast fans have picked up on the #EmoKev references in trailer for THE 4:30 MOVIE. My new flick offers a few nods to the self-proclaimed “King of Dark Notions”, with subtle cinematic swaps – like the film’s Ponder Dock substituting for the real life Ponder Rock (nerdy eyes might recognize a copy of @officialstarlog beside him). But @austinzajur had to deliver the unvarnished, most cringe line I ever said aloud: “I’ve got a 24 karat case of love.” If you recall Smodcast episodes 223 and 224, you’ll remember @samosier nearly dying laughing at the recording of a young Kevin Smith saying that shit out loud. Now, over three decades later, composer @bearmccreary and his brother immortalized that goofy sentiment – redeemed it, even – by writing a closing credits track for 4:30 entitled “24 Karat Case of Love.” The 4:30 Movie will be in theaters everywhere on September 13th, but you can come to the World Premiere at @smodcastlecinemas on August 24th!
