These 2 dudes I spent the most time riding with in the 90’s – we all came up at the same time …. Pretty cool to all be back together in one place again – most of you know @briancastillo and the other guy is MIKE OCOBOC – also known as “the Boy” – in the 90’s he was one of the best riders around, also the youngest. Mike and I both had backyard ramps which we all rode a Ton, most of these photos are from are yards. Mike quit being pro and moved on to being a digital compositer for movies and has worked on all the biggest ones – planet of the apes, the hobbit and so on.. he also lives in NEW ZEALAND for at least a decade… so getting together is far and few between. This was the first time Brian had seen him in almost 30 years … Mike and I spent the last few years of the 90’s snowboarding a lot and have kept in touch the whole time… he was truly a pioneer in Bmx and is responsible for many trick first and trends back then… it was awesome to all be back together #bmx #betheadventure thx to @marklosey for documenting basically our whole lives … all photos from Mark.

On Saturday night @jasonenns and @daveosato were honored with being inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame. Although I was not able to attend, I was asked to send a video congratulating them. Of course this was last minute and I was in Texas working nights so I had just a couple hours a day to work on it and get it done, I really want to thank everyone who got me a video so fast. so many people responded who I asked to contribute and I was able to make this little video happen. Things that never got done… while filming for the first @united_bmx caveman edit maybe back in 2017 I came across this set up …the rail was rickety so I had to prop it up with a 2×4 you can see at the top. I also kicked a runway into the dirt to make a path… I think I even glued an angle iron over part of the rail because it had rotted through the metal .. the problem was there were always cars parked in the way. This day we had a clean shot, being about 45 minutes away from my house meant a lot of trips up there only to be a no go cause of cars. I think this was second or third try…. Shortly after maybe even the next try a slipped off getting on and hit my shin on a decaying piece of metal somewhere and punctured it … (see second photo) a quick trip to the hospital to get stitched after that. Which lead to months of coming back only to be met with cars blocking the path… after probably 10 trips to look I finally gave up and put the edit out without it … this happens not to often where I don’t even get a real attempt at something and it haunts my soul for years … I drove back over there last year and saw the rail had finally rotted away and was removed (see third photo) … does this make me feel better that it’s not there so I couldn’t do it anyways or does it make it worse that now cause I’ll never do it ? I’m not sure … either way… pretty cool setup .. #bmx #betheadventure
