Mike Escamilla Instagram – Things that never got done… while filming for the first @united_bmx caveman edit maybe back in 2017 I came across this set up …the rail was rickety so I had to prop it up with a 2×4 you can see at the top. I also kicked a runway into the dirt to make a path… I think I even glued an angle iron over part of the rail because it had rotted through the metal .. the problem was there were always cars parked in the way. This day we had a clean shot, being about 45 minutes away from my house meant a lot of trips up there only to be a no go cause of cars. I think this was second or third try…. Shortly after maybe even the next try a slipped off getting on and hit my shin on a decaying piece of metal somewhere and punctured it … (see second photo) a quick trip to the hospital to get stitched after that. Which lead to months of coming back only to be met with cars blocking the path… after probably 10 trips to look I finally gave up and put the edit out without it … this happens not to often where I don’t even get a real attempt at something and it haunts my soul for years … I drove back over there last year and saw the rail had finally rotted away and was removed (see third photo) … does this make me feel better that it’s not there so I couldn’t do it anyways or does it make it worse that now cause I’ll never do it ?
