Ritchie Torres Instagram – The International Court of Justice (ICJ) came out with an advisory opinion asserting the illegality of a Jewish sovereign presence in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, the Western Wall, and the Temple Mount—the holiest sites in Judaism.
An ICJ that definitively prejudges Jewish sovereignty over these Jewish sites to be illegitimate—outside the context of bilateral negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians—is exposing its own illegitimacy. It is acting not legally but politically. It is engaged not in law but in lawfare. When it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, there has been nothing just about the International Court of Justice.
