twitter is where I share my inside thoughts outside. this unexpectedly resonated w/ a lot of people, so for #mentalhealthawarenessmonth I felt it would be good to share here. thank you to everyone who shared/commented there, LinkedIn and other places. clearly we are all carrying a lot 🤍 stepping away from what I like to call the “Black Girl Magic Industrial Complex” has been an adjustment. we’re rewarded with social and literal currency to be our shiniest overachieving selves, meanwhile many of us are barely holding on. while i can’t speak for everyone – it wasn’t sustainable for me. i didn’t expect such an overwhelming response and it is VERY clear this is an extended convo worth having – and when the right platform presents itself I look forward to sharing and diving into it more. xo🤍

happy saturday! spent the morning canvassing for @kamalaharris! i was super motivated thanks to all of the great energy of this past sunday’s @winwithblackwomen call and signed up to volunteer. then this morning came and I almost didn’t go because I was going alone & wouldn’t know anyone 😩 🫣 BUT i’m so glad I didn’t let that stop me and I went. everyone was incredibly welcoming & I had a great canvassing partner. i also met my steps goal for the day wayyy early lol. we have 100 days left. if you’re in ATL and want to volunteer I’ll be sharing diff events and opportunities in my stories. for everyone feeling nervous about showing up alone, don’t be! tonight over 44,000 Black women and allies answered the call and the challenge by @winwithblackwomen to honor the moment. Over 1 MILLION DOLLARS raised in less than 3 hours to support @kamalaharris! i know i have been pretty quiet on here for a while…but the times we are in call for all of us to step up. over the next few months i will be sharing info and resources so that we can be informed and active. thank you to @jotakaeaddy and the #WinWithBlackWomen team for leading the incredible and historic zoom call tonight. 107 days…let’s go! #onevoiceonefight
