Annie Lennox Instagram – Dear Friends,
I just want to clarify where I’m coming from…
1. I abhor antisemitism – racism, bigotry and hatred.
2. ⁠Calling out war crimes does not make anyone a “mouthpiece for Hamas.”
3. ⁠What I call for is CEASEFIRE and an end to this horror show.
3. ⁠Religious intolerance and hatred of “others” is anathema to me. Fundamental extremism can be a very dangerous thing.
4. ⁠I believe that Israel and Palestine both have a right to exist and the right to live in peace and security.
5. ⁠There are MANY layers to the Israel Palestine story and
many varying interpretations. I take the ‘middle ground’
6. The bottom line for me is ceasefire and negotiations.
7. ⁠ This genocidal “war” and relentless cruelty is an affront to decency and humanity.
8. ⁠.I have frequently said that the hostages MUST be returned – as well as THOUSANDS of Palestinian prisoners who have been accused as being ‘guilty’ before being found “innocent.”
9. ⁠I denounce ALL KILLING and WOUNDING of innocent people on BOTH sides
10.Since Oct 7th – 1,478 Israelis have been killed versus 40,000 Palestinians.. ( mostly women and children.
As I write down these numbers I feel outraged and horrified for each and every single victim of all these outrageous Crimes Against Humanity!!!
World leaders endorse and are complicit!!!!
