Dear Friends, I just want to clarify where I’m coming from… 1. I abhor antisemitism – racism, bigotry and hatred. 2. Calling out war crimes does not make anyone a “mouthpiece for Hamas.” 3. What I call for is CEASEFIRE and an end to this horror show. 3. Religious intolerance and hatred of “others” is anathema to me. Fundamental extremism can be a very dangerous thing. 4. I believe that Israel and Palestine both have a right to exist and the right to live in peace and security. 5. There are MANY layers to the Israel Palestine story and many varying interpretations. I take the ‘middle ground’ 6. The bottom line for me is ceasefire and negotiations. 7. This genocidal “war” and relentless cruelty is an affront to decency and humanity. 8. .I have frequently said that the hostages MUST be returned – as well as THOUSANDS of Palestinian prisoners who have been accused as being ‘guilty’ before being found “innocent.” 9. I denounce ALL KILLING and WOUNDING of innocent people on BOTH sides 10.Since Oct 7th – 1,478 Israelis have been killed versus 40,000 Palestinians.. ( mostly women and children. Dear Friends… 70,000 tons of bombs in ten months = 7,000 tons every month = 1,750 tons EVERY SINGLE day!!! 1,750 bombs being dropped and exploding on your house – your street – your neighbourhood, your city, hospitals, historic buildings, mosques churches, market places, your family and friends as they’re trying to escape to a ‘safe’ zone, when there none! Dear Friends, We’ve been witnessing these nightmarish scenes for almost a year. The abject decimation of the Gaza Strip and her people. As each day continues with no ceasefire in sight, I feel a terrible sense of profound outrage, disbelief and shame at the endless cruelty being inflicted. Scenes like these are unbearable. I believe in the values of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, but they are being ignored and invalidated.
