Dear Friends, Time for the EU to step up and take action. If these figures were taking place in any other country I suspect the response would be entirely different! #nopeacewithoutjustice
Dear Friends, This International Women’s Day, I’m joining @thecirclengo , to call for URGENT mobilisation of funds to support grassroots women’s rights organisations everywhere! As the world is becomes exponentially unstable, collective action is needed now more than ever. The statistics are staggering. 1 in 3 women globally will experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. Yet billions of dollars are channelled into anti-rights whilst funding for gender equality is under threat. THIS MUST CHANGE. As a proud global feminist, I stand in solidarity with the 1 in 3 women facing gender-based violence. At @thecirclengo , we work with extraordinary women-led grassroots organisations doing vital work, from creating safe spaces for survivors of violence, to counselling, therapeutic support and much more. I can’t urge you enough, whatever your means, to consider making a donation this IWD to The Circle’s #MakeAStandFor1in3 appeal in support of these women and girls on the frontlines of violence. 🔗 Link in bio #InSolidarityandAction #TheCircle #MakeAStandfor1in3
Dear Friends, This is a cry of desparate HUNGER!!! You WON’T FIND THIS IN THE MEDIA HEADLINES because they either don’t care – or don’t want you to know. The suffering of the Palestinian people doesn’t matter to them. International Human Rights have GONE!!!! The saying of ‘NEVER AGAIN’ means nothing and is of no consequence. Mass displacement and genocide is happening in plain sight while life just steps over and around it. Absolutely devastating. #stopkillingchildren #ceasefire
Dear Friends, I’m sure many of you are parents. And I’m sure, like me, you must often wonder how it can be that ‘adults’ – supposed’ grown ups, who have children can possibly justify the killing and wounding of Palestinian children in their tens of thousands. I’m sure most of the global political leaders, the manufacturers and merchants of weaponary – bombs, guns, drones and bullets, have children. How do they sleep at night? Don’t they have nightmares, after they’ve seen the little bodies wrapped in shrouds, or bleeding out on a blood drenched gurney, among crowds of desperate and dying people?? How can they live with themselves???? THEY REALLY DON’T CARE!!!!
📖 We are delighted to formally announce that @rizzolibooks will publish Annie Lennox: Retrospective September 16th. Spanning over 40 years of artistry, image-making, activism and iconic music history, this beautiful visual memoir brings together more than 200 photographs from Annie’s personal archives and iconic career, from Polaroids and portraits to music video stills and album covers. In Annie’s own words: “There have been thousands of photographic images floating around in the zeitgeist throughout the decades of my life as a performer. In a way, each one serves as part of the picture-puzzle narrative of my story. With Retrospective, I wanted to look back at my life’s work lived under the public gaze, throughout the creation of music—lyrics—recordings and film.” “Each album, video, and photograph has its own identity and style. Retrospective could actually have been presented in many different ways, with many more different images. But for now—here it is… A memento—a souvenir—A life lived through imagery and sound. I hope you enjoy it!” 🔗 Link in bio to find out more and stay tuned here for updates Annie Lennox HQ
Dear Friends, When ‘peace’ was declared on October 10th, it was on a ‘provisional’ basis and supposed to be implemented in three stages. We’re still at the first stage and although it gives Palestinian people in Gaza a ‘break’ from the relentless bombardment, it must be understood that explosions are still going off and people are still being killed. There is SO MUCH NEED in the ruins of what was once a fully functioning city. While we all wait to see the latest developments, let’s not become complacent. People are in limbo right now, with no clear knowledge or information as to what their future holds. LET GAZA LIVE!!! Please check out the fantastic work of The Zaynab Project @humanitiproject @fundakitchen All these projects help provide basic, life saving essentials on the ground, where the need is desperate.
TWO YEARS of continuous slaughter!!!! More child amputees in Gaza than any other place in the world. Still no real AID getting in. And the world watches and waits to see if there will be ANY improvement in the state of play, while settlers attack, assault, violate and kill Palestinians in the West Bank with impunity.
Dear Friends, ALL of THIS could be YOUR town…YOUR city… YOUR backyard. Once international human rights have been eroded, ignored or violated… Gaza is an open killing field. DECIMATED
Being a creative person means collaborating with other creative people, @officialannielennox told @anthonymasoncbs. “It’s our life,” she explained, when discussing the pride she feels in her body of work.
From performing at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert with David Bowie to growing up in Aberdeen to contemplating vegetables in the supermarket, @officialannielennox’s visual memoir, “Annie Lennox: Retrospective,” tells the story of how a young Scottish girl became a boundary-breaking star. Lennox told @anthonymasoncbs about some of the most iconic moments in her career: “I’ve seen myself as a canvas in a way, you know, as an artist, a performer.”
Dear Friends, Was there ever such a wise -strong and brilliant soul as @wizard_bisan1? Over the last few days I’ve felt exceptionally disheartened at the thought of GENOCIDE taking place in the world – not only in Gaza, but in Sudan and Congo.. The fact that human life means NOTHING to the collective powers that be.. The complicity of silence and total lack of conscience becomes paralysing. As human beings of compassion and empathy, we look away to our detriment Like everyone – I’m drained by it all… exasperated and filled with grief over what is taking place with absolute impunity. Imagine being Bisan.. Imagine being ANYONE trapped in the rubble of Gaza. LET GAZA LIVE LET SUDAN LIVE LET CONGO LIVE

Dear Friends, I can only imagine that you’re feeling overwhelmed and horrified to see so much ‘warfare’ being enforced upon ordinary people, who are now caught up in the horror of bombing, displacement and destruction. War begets more war.. while those who suffer are ALWAYS civilians.. Here’s something you can do, if you want to do something to help those affected.. @chooselove “£50K MATCHFUND FOR MIDDLE EAST CRISIS Homes, families and children are being bombed across the Middle East. Hundreds of thousands of people are being displaced overnight, forced to leave everything, and worried for their lives and the lives of their loved ones. In Lebanon, 100,000 people are now living in new emergency shelters and 750,000 people are being forcibly displaced following Israeli orders to leave the south of Lebanon and southern areas of Beirut. Our partners who are responding in Lebanon and Syria desperately need support to open more emergency shelters, provide food, urgent medical aid, heating and fuel and more. Please donate today to help our incredible partners who are responding locally in Syria, Lebanon and across the region to provide people with humanitarian essentials as this crisis continues to escalate.” Visit @ChooseLove link in bio

In honor of International Day of the Girl, @soundwaves_art is auctioning a signed print from the sold out collection created from the sound waves of Annie Lennox’s “Why.” The print was hand-signed by Annie and Soundwaves artist Tim Wakefield, and all profits go to support the incredible @thecirclengo, a nonprofit that brings global feminist together to use their resources, networks and creativity to cultivate long lasting change. Dear Friends, THIS is the fantastic work of @thezaynabproject on the ground in Gaza. 503 hot nutritious meals were distributed…feeding 1, 509 people in one day! Services like these are essential to people living on the margins of the very bare minimum in Gaza. Check out the work of The Zaynab Project and consider supporting what they do.
