Dear Friends, The ceasefire will be called into effect on Sunday 19th January. From my perspective.. knowing that bombs will still be falling on Gaza until Sunday, I have to say CEASEFIRE sounds great, but we have to hold caution before celebrating. Gaza has been absolutely devastated. Tens of thousands of men, women and children have undergone continuous bombardment for almost 15 months..The slaughter and carnage – wounding, starving, burning, destruction of every part of infrastructure.. Entire families wiped out. The torture, starvation, amputation of limbs ( often without anaesthetic) – disease, freezing cold rain, wind, ethnic cleansing – nowhere safe.. The destruction of schools, hospitals, universities, homes, churches,mosques.. historic buildings… The list of sadistic cruelty endured by the Palestinian people is indescribably brutal, in a way that has made me feel unspeakably horrified and deeply ashamed of the entire global system, with it’s industrial military complex. I almost lost my entire faith in every aspect of it all. Except for those who stood up and called it out. You have my deepest respect and appreciation!!! ☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️

Dear Friends, Do you know of any media outlets apart from Al Jazeera who have covered this? If it were happening in any other country in the world, this would have made global headline news. Physically, Gaza has been all but destroyed. We have been witnessing a continuous genocide taking place in plain sight for well over a year. Remember that 70% of the victims are women and children. If there are ANY international humanitarian principles or rules.. they’ve been discarded like trash. I just want to see a permanent ceasefire and an end to all this destruction and carnage. Dear Friends, Please take a moment to watch and listen to this highly compelling message from a young Palestinian journalist, in an earnest appeal to the world to acknowledge the desperate plight of the GENOCIDE that has been largely ignored by the international media. How utterly shameful and bizarre that Western media have ignored a GENOCIDE that has been playing out for almost 15 months in plain sight! I cannot understand how it must feel to be in a profession whose purpose is to cover world news – but doesn’t. I can only speculate that Western journalists must have been given orders from ‘the top’ or threatened in some way. Dear Friends, I hope you’re all well… Here in Los Angeles many people have been experiencing varying levels of anxiety, terror and loss. The homes of thousands have been burnt to ash. I’m sure you’ve seen all the images. The news is filled with it. Personally I’m slightly numb with shock. It’s truly dystopian and disturbing. It has given me a more visceral reminder as to what uncontrollable ‘fire’ and ‘destruction’ looks and feels like close up. So forgive me if I share this post with you. It wasn’t covered by the media and it will never be, because this precious child is a Palestinian in Gaza. So while we focus on the fires in Los Angeles, let’s also not forget that ‘fire’ from bombs has been burning, mutilating and killing children for over a year now. Dear Friends, Where we are today with regards to the conditions of the 2.2 million people of Gaza who are forced to endure 3 war crimes taking place at the same time!! 1. GENOCIDE 2. COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT and STARVATION 3. ETHNIC CLEANSING Four major cities have been razed to the ground completely. 90 per cent of Gazans have been ethnically cleansed. Forced to leave their homes, they are barely surviving in the worst conditions imaginable. They have no proper food and no clean water, as well as the dire situation with medical treatment and health care. On average, every Gazan gets sick three times a month. There are almost no basic medical supplies and ‘shelter’ consists of flimsy, freezing, leaky tents. No less than 55,000 people have been killed, including 17,000 children and at least 13,000 women. 108,000 people have been injured. The number of Palestinians killed is larger than all the American wars since the war of independence in the USA. 86,000 tons of explosives have been dropped on Gaza, which means 36 kilograms of explosives for every man, woman and child. #stopthegenocidenow #stoppkillingchildren
