Today is #LatinaEqualPay Day, Latina workers on average only get 53 cents for every $1 a man is paid. The gap has widened since last year, and for some, it’s even worse. This is an injustice, and there’s still so much work to do for Latinas to be treated equally. Me and my sisters at @timesupnow support Latina equal pay! #phenomenallylatina @phenomenal.ly t-shirt proceeds benefit the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health. I’m so proud to continue to support @Always_brand in helping #EndPeriodPoverty. Back in August, I shared my #throwback photo as part of their big push to raise awareness and help Always donate pads to girls in need. Thanks to all of you sharing and shopping, we’ve donated over 15 million pads to-date across North America! It doesn’t stop here. Let’s continue to spread the word in helping #EndPeriodPoverty so access to period products never stands in the way of a girl and her education.

We found some remarkable women who had dreamt of being astronauts at a time when it wasn’t possible for women. I teamed up with @ford to take these ladies to space camp to show it’s never too late to pursue the things you love! #ad
#MovementMondays Ismael Cruz Cordova is an amazing Puerto Rican actor. Born and raised in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico the once shy Cordova told Latina Magazine “While I was growing up it was very hard, because we were a family of very little means. Growing up we faced a lot of struggles. But in hindsight, it was such a beautiful thing! I would say I grew up so privileged because it gave me the opportunity to see the world completely different. The place where I grew up, in the mountains removed from so many things, and the things that at the moment I didn’t think were cool are the things I want now, like cows and horses and peace and quiet. It was beautiful in that sense. It was challenging and galvanizing to create art because it’s not that easy. It’s not easy to express yourself through the creative field and creative activities, so that fueled a lot of what I do now. It fuels a lot of what I want to do — to have the voice of the people I represent be heard.” In high school, Cordova never had the intent to act until he came across the drama club booth and joined that led him to start working locally. In 2006, he decided to pursue his dream even further and moved to NYC where he studied at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He has been making major strides in the acting world since – he gained national recognition playing the character, Armando (Mando), on Sesame street, was also featured in the Showtime series Ray Donovan and CBS’s The Good Wife. In 2014, Cordova made his feature film debut In the Blood alongside Danny Trejo and Amaury Nolasco that was actually shot in Puerto Rico! Next, he will also be seen in season three of Epix’s Berlin Station and in Focus Features Mary Queen of Scots alongside Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie. His voice is being heard & I was very blessed to act alongside him in our upcoming film Miss Bala set to be released February 1st! @ismaelcruzcordova I love you brother. So much and I’m constantly in awe of you! 🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️💙❤️
