Gul Panag Instagram – The @tatamummarathon completes 20 years, and as we start the journey to the 2025 edition, @procamintl ‘s legacy is the first thing that comes to mind. The sheer audacity of vision, the scale to which they’ve taken it – creating not only India’s largest running event, ( it ranks as amongst the top 10 marathons of the world) but also enabling the country’s largest philanthropy platform in the process.
But, it all started with the runners who signed up for the very first event. Back in 2004. Including, yours truly.
They are the pioneers, the street warriors, the improbable visionaries.
The ones who believed in the impossible dream.
The nation’s runners who picked up the gauntlet and said we can, and we will, despite the odds.
The ones who did not understand the word NO.
The powers who opened the unopened door.
The givers who opened their hearts.
The timekeepers to a city’s conscience.
The ones who made the difference.
THEY ARE THE PERFECT STORM OF PEOPLE AT THEIR VERY BEST.
THEY ARE THE PATHBREAKERS, THEY ARE THE TRAILBLAZERS.
THEY ARE THE CHANGE-MAKERS.
Grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of this incredible running movement since its inception in 2004, and having met and interacted with these trailblazers and these change makers who have raised so much money for charity, for me has been an enriching experience I will forever be grateful for.
