Gul Panag Instagram – It was absolutely wonderful visiting Camp Kharu, @royalenfieldsocialmission ‘s first milestone Green Pit Stop in Ladakh- the idea behind which is to inspire people to ‘Leave Every Place Better’.
Located on the banks of the Indus, run by Kharu women’s Self-Help Group and built in traditional Ladakhi and sustainable architecture, this cafe offers more than just food. It’s a place to soak in artistic endeavours as well as sample local handicrafts and produce.
A Green Pit Stop is meant for slow travel, making one savour local experiences. What’s amazing is that Local communities are at the core of Royal Enfield’s Social Mission and an initiative like this helps in local entrepreneurship, environment sustainability and promoting intangible cultural heritage – all in a differentiated way. Whether you’re a biker or traveller or simply passing through, this place is a must visit !
