Imelda May Instagram – It’s such an honour to announce a print collaboration with the National Print Museum Ireland, @nationalprintmuseum
in aid of their fine work championing print
and its impact on the world.
‘Beneath the Silken Sun’ is a poem I wrote for Susan and Elizabeth Yeats and recite in my documentary Lily & Lolly: The Forgotten Yeats Sisters.
This print is produced by the superbly
talented printing expert @maryjplunkett
(grand niece of poet, journalist and 1916 activist
Joseph Mary Plunket) at the Museum
on handmade paper using the lettering and traditional processes employed by the Yeats sisters
at Dun Emer and Cuala Press.
All proceeds raised will be reinvested by the Museum in the preservation of letterpress printing at this working museum (a registered charity).
Please visit this glorious place.
The sounds of printers diligently at work,
the smell of the inks, the devotion of everyone there to quality and to fine craftsmanship soothes the soul.
(And food I had in the attached cafe was divine.
Perfect place)
Link to pre-order the prints in my Instagram stories. | Posted on 11/Mar/2024 23:26:35
