Leanne Ford Instagram – During the 12th hour of install at our #ChurchLaneProject, I decided that my original vision for the primary closet, with two chairs facing one another in the middle of the space, just wasn’t cutting it, and an island in the middle was going to be way more useful for the future homeowner. So, I got this wild idea to take some of my @semihandmade cabinets and essentially put them inside a vintage island I’d found. At the time, it seemed totally insane, but @williamsonconstructionpgh trusted my vision, got creative with me, and, together, we created this bespoke, kind of shabby-chic island that brought the room together. (It’s funny that a touch of shabby-chic seems to always find its way into my spaces, whether I am thinking about it or not — what can I say: I have always been, and always will be, a shabby-chic girl!)
(Also, not sure who let me get my hands on a staple gun mid install… but sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! Proper protection is always advised despite the craziness you see here!) Swipe through to see how we created this storage island together!
