Medical professionals dedicate their lives to the health and well being of others, we must protect them at all costs as well as protect all women so they are free to pursue their calling and feel safe. Though I do not live in India, so many people I love are there and it’s still the country of my birth. So like most in India and the diaspora I am shocked, angry and saddened. We hold our heads in shame that this could happen yet again to a promising young woman who had her life cut short in such a brutal unspeakable way. I hope the Supreme Court takes action. And I hope justice is served. You can tell a lot about a society by how it treats and respects women. Respect women now.
