Their senses always seem to be perfectly synchronised with the rhythm of their surroundings, the slightest sound or flicker of motion enough to trigger a response. It’s perhaps one of the reasons these cats are so simultaneously elusive and adaptable. But even hardy species like leopards are not safe from our rampant and rapid expansion into natural habitats. In areas where human development has spilled further into wild spaces, big cats like leopards are forced to navigate landscapes that can be dangerous to their survival. If we hope to give these cats a fighting chance, it’s crucial that we work to safeguard what habitat they have left and systematically work at expanding it.⁣
