This month #LoveOurGirls is highlighting the profound work of Niemat Ahmadi, a native of North Darfur and survivor of the Darfur Genocide. Niemat is the Founder and President of @darfurwomenaction, an organization dedicated to raising public awareness on the horrifying escalation of the civil war in Sudan over the past year and the atrocities against women and girls, including brutal conflict related sexual violence.
To this day, there is very little international media coverage talking about Sudan. There are currently an estimated 25M people in need of humanitarian assistance and support, 17M people facing acute hunger, 10M people displaced and 65% of women & girls are targets of conflict related sexual violence.
