Happy Saturday Luvs
.
So my little Turkey was born on November 25th @8:46am. Healthy & handsome little guy called Armani Mateo G.
Months preparing for a home birth and unfortunately I ended up having an emergency C-section.
I’ve been under OBGYN care my whole pregnancy. I’ve never missed one appointment and she failed to diagnose me with placenta prévia at my 20th week prenatal appointment.
I had multiple visits at All Children’s Hospital and Morton Plant Bay Care and both healthcare providers never looked at my ultrasounds thoroughly.
In the past two weeks I had some issues where my little baby had flipped from cephalic into a breech position. I was shocked and very stressed about it because he had been cephalic since his 30th week and as you know being breech would have been a problem for my home delivery.
My OB on Monday did a very brief ultrasound of less than a minute to confirm that Armani was head down.
Once again not content with my OB’s treatment I decided to take my midwife’s advice and schedule an appointment on Tuesday with private ultrasound tech.
During my appointment at this new location the tech decided to do a more thorough ultrasound because my baby’s father has not been able to attend any appointments due to Covid. This amazing ultrasound tech found out that I had Placenta Prévia.
Soon after my appt we talked to my midwife and she told us to go Tampa Gen immediately. As soon as we arrived they brought is straight to labor & delivery department where they also confirmed with an ultrsound that I had placenta prévia.
The doctors at Tampa Gen told me to quickly go home and pack a bag and come right back for a c-section because I had started naturally inducing my baby by using herbs, Acupuncture, etc…
On Wednesday at midnight we arrived back at the hospital for the big day. My surgery was great, they controlled the hemorrhage really well. This hospital is baby friendly, respect Woman. Never once I was not with my baby. They did all the assessments by my bedside.
Long story short my son Armani and the ultrasound tech saved our lives. 🙏🏽

In a world full of judgments, I choose to love myself fiercely. 🌟 At 38, as a mother, entrepreneur, and student, I fully embrace my femininity and celebrate my journey. 💖 Let these photos remind every woman to be proud of who she is and to shine brightly. ✨ Some might label these images as attention-seeking or use derogatory words to describe the art behind them, but I see them as a celebration of self-love and empowerment. 💪 Some years we look fitter, other years softer—embrace yourself in every healthy shape. 💃 A huge thanks to @julie_roman_photographer for capturing me in Tulum for two consecutive years. 📸 This last shoot was particularly challenging with the torrential rain, 🌧️ mosquito bites, 🦟 extreme heat, 🔥 and the hair gel that dripped into my eye, making it impossible to open! 👁️🌹 #SelfLove #Empowerment #FeminineStrength #Inspiration

I did it! Here’s a highlight from my weekend—I’ve finally achieved my goal. I am the first in my family to earn a degree, and not just any degree, but a master’s! My journey began over a decade ago when I decided to pursue a career in nursing. Coming from Brazil, I had to start from scratch, taking pre-college classes before embarking on my academic path. In 2018, I began my associate’s program in Florida to become a registered nurse, graduating in 2020. The day I passed my nursing boards, I immediately started my bachelor’s in nursing. Just a week after completing my bachelor’s, I began my master’s in nursing to become a nurse practitioner. Now, I’m studying hard to pass the AANP boards exam to become a certified NP. Meanwhile, I established a business in Connecticut in 2020 and became a mother, neither of which slowed down my urge to continue my education. Huge thanks to my mother for helping me watch my son for the past three years so I could pursue my education. In the midst of all this, I was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Doctor of Nursing, an opportunity for “free education” that I couldn’t pass up. Throughout this entire journey, I’ve also been working to establish my business here in Tampa. It’s a lot to juggle, but I’m confident that soon everything will fall into place. It’s pretty cool to look back and see how many friends I have made over the years throughout my nursing journey. I have met many different people and formed lasting connections. I’m grateful for all the opportunities, the relationships I’ve built, and all the knowledge I’ve gained. Not to mention my amazing patients who have become a part of my life.
