Yesterday was an incredible day — I celebrated the grand opening of my new location, surrounded by amazing people, joy, and gratitude. But not a single minute went by without thinking of my father and wishing he could have been there to witness it all. And today, I was baptized — a moment of deep surrender, healing, and recommitment to my walk with God. After my last in-person meeting with my father, I felt a strong pull to return to church. At the time, I thought I was choosing this path for other reasons, but after his passing, I came to understand that it was God preparing me — surrounding me with faith and community so I could survive the hardest season of my life. There’s still pain in knowing I can’t speak to him again on this side of heaven, but today reminded me that God has never left me — and even in the hardest moments, He is healing, restoring, and carrying me forward.

We survived Brazil! 7 flights in 5 days, 2 one-hour naps in random airports, drove 500km across Paraná like a rally driver, met family, employees, lawyers, creditors… oh, and casually discovered 1.6 million Reais in debt (because, of course, why not?). Stopped by a competitor’s supermarket just to make things extra awkward—after all, let’s not forget this is the same guy who had the audacity to mock my dad during his wake, saying his casket was too cheap and that my supermarket would be shutting down soon. (Plot twist: We’re still standing!) Ate insane amounts of churrasco but had zero time to work out or sightsee. Saw way too many unfinished construction sites and somehow ended up leasing the abandoned warehouses. Endless emails and phone calls with the American Embassy, enjoyed Frank’s farm for a whopping 24 hours—witnessed 9 chicks being born 🐣 (at least someone is starting fresh!)—and even leased the farm, while, for extra drama, the previous owner is still trying to steal it back. And now, somehow, we’re back in Florida. Hopefully, I can finally find some time to grieve… once I unravel the estate in the U.S. too. Fingers crossed there isn’t another mountain of debt waiting for me here! Who needs a vacation when you can have this level of chaos instead? And a huge shoutout to my amazing attorneys, staff, and managers who held everything together and made this possible. I couldn’t have done it without you!
