I am interested in small, nearly imperceptible moments on screen that tell the story of what it means to be alive, desire, longing, guilt, shame, remorse, ecstasy, desperation. I understand the privilege it is to be an actor but I also understand the vulnerability. Actors are made of pure expression and instinct, and are completely exposed when critics judge this through their own cynical lenses. Very fitting, in fact, as it is what men are doing to Barbe in this image. It’s important create, to try, to fail and to try again. I hope audiences continue to find some refuge in our beautiful film that is being released into cinemas today in the UK. And I want to thank audiences around the world for embracing our film made entirely independently, and with a sensitive touch. Widow Clicquot is not a commercial not a story about Champagne, it is about a one woman’s archetypical journey from shy, timid girl to an independent woman and soulful, creative force. Barbe discovers the healing, regenerative qualities of mother nature as a way to survive the tragic loss of her true partner. Euphoria Retreat @euphoriaretreat has been the perfect safe landing after seven months of intense filming Last Frontier on location in Canada followed by the US and UK release of Widow Clicquot. Quietly, I have been on the verge of a devastating burn out. I am grateful for this sanctuary nestled the ancient village of Mystras, surrounded by the most aromatic forest in the mountains. And grateful for my family for allowing me the space to be present here. I feel so well looked after by the most incredible team of doctors, mentors, nutritionists, therapists and fitness instructors that work together to support and encourage an intensely personal and holistic journey 🙏🏼
