Jamie Otis Instagram – This is a vulnerable one but the other day a girlfran asked me if we’re still “doing it” … the short answer is NO!🙅♀️😂 With our first pregnancy I used to feel like I’d kinda have to because I didn’t want our marriage to go down the drain or lack chemistry during pregnancy😩
Doug never made me feel like I had to – I just wanted to as his wife.☺️
I feel like us ladies put that kinda pressure on ourselves especially when we’re newer in our marriage/relationship.🤦🏼♀️ I sure hope it isn’t your partner putting that pressure on you😬
10 years into marriage and now pregnant with twins I have ZERO worries about not “doing it” for a few months while I’m super pregnant or uncomfortable postpartum with stitches and fluid leaking from all of my crevices.🤪😅
There are so many other ways to connect as a couple.💯🙏❤️
I think we should normalize the lack of “doing it” in marriage when you’re pregnant/postpartum/any other reasons. There’s no shame in it and it doesn’t mean you love each other less. As a matter of fact, your love and respect for each other can grow immensely as you learn new ways to show affection.❤️
And if you feel like you’re the only one not “doing it” for whatever reason – just know you’re not. And it’s ok. 💕
You aren’t broken and it’ll return just fine when you’re ready! I know bc there was a time during my last pregnancy/postpartum we didnt and we are still here and love each other more now than ever.🙏❤️
