When I moved to LA with no film school background, the American Cinemateque, with its year round programs, screenings and Q&A’s, played a huge role in my self directed film education. I can’t overstate how vital organizations like these are for fostering culture, community, and even careers. Presenting my own work now with the American Cinemateque is always a pinch me full circle moment, and nothing delights me more than doing Q&As at the Aero for folks in the audience who sit exactly where I sat years ago, dreaming of telling stories that might make it up on that screen one day.
