This is what @rashidatlaib said during the press conference she attend along with survivors of the Bhopal disaster, and EJ leaders from the most polluted zip code in the state – 48217.
On the survivors’ tour stop in Michigan, we met with the #cleantheair coalition @wearemejc as well as Congresswoman Tlaib. Rep. Tlaib was among those who signed the letter urging the US Department of Justice to respond to the Gov. of India’s court summons to Dow last October. As a result, a Dow representative showed up in a Bhopal court for the first time in two decades.
We appreciate the Congresswoman’s solidarity with gas-exposed communities in Bhopal, and look forward to working with her more to continue holding Dow Chemicals accountable.
