I couldn’t understand why someone hadn’t already told this story. ➖Why did I really write it❓
Well, I do have an ulterior motive… I want more young girls to fall in love with sailing! I’m hoping that this book will help them do that. ➖When❓

It’s an adventure story about sailing and making new friends. There’s a bit of fantasy and some mysterious local history. I think it’s a modern fairy-tale, but certainly not the type of fairy-tale where the heroine sits around waiting to be rescued!

If I can share one piece of totally unsolicited, and unqualified parenting advice, it’s that reading to your kids is a very dangerous thing to do. Books have been the inspiration for my most crazy ideas, including this one – my own very soon to be available middle grade novel. 😂

⚡️Mindblown. This time a week ago in the Team Australia Challenge AC40 Sim for the first time, the record-breaking Jess Watson alongside myself. Jess completed her lap of the planet at an average of 4 knots on her S&S 32 with a max speed of 14 knots or so down a wave… In the Sim she managed to crack 51 knots with her helming finesse maxing at 51.5 (she inched me out by 0.5 of a knot!!)! Had to go twice on that bit for the facials! It was amazing to learn from and see the work that goes on behind the scenes of our Youth and first ever Women’s America’s Cup teams (yes this year is the first), specifically in the simulator. What lies ahead is a serious challenge, and all we can say is get behind your fellow Aussies! Thanks to Tom and Fergo for the coaching and Lisa and Sarah for expert trimming of sails and foils so we weren’t spending more time upside down! 🥊🦘🇦🇺 Video by me @sailorgirlhq #sailing #americascup #simulator #tech #sailorgirl
