And I did just that.
Although up until now, I had just been collecting participation certificates.
But Ma, I finally won!
Your daughter made it to the Forbes 30 under 30 list and is on the cover!
I trained in Hindustani classical music for nine years, but didn’t have the voice.
Competed in Taekwondo, but had to give up due to health issues.
Took up competitive elocution but didn’t get past the state level.
Studied really hard for boards but couldn’t get into my dream college.
Then built my profile by working full time with college while pursuing CFA, got into Duke Uni for my masters with a scholarship as well.
But Covid hit two weeks after I received my acceptance letter.
It was then, in the middle of Covid, I started creating content with an aim to educate people on finance that got to FORBES!
There were a lot of ups and downs though. My immediate social circle would mock me, I saw no growth for an entire year, I still receive hate everyday and I also receive legal notices for the awareness videos I make!
But it is fine, my purpose is bigger and this is just the beginning there is a lot more to be done.
And I will fail at times. I will be mediocre often. But that’s okay.
Because it is only after collecting enough participation certificates you learn how to win!
