Christina Pascucci Instagram – That’s a wrap! One month. 6 countries. Countless memories and invaluable time bonding with our girl. I love her curiosity. And her innocence. I loved how much Italians love babies, or piccolini, as they call them. There is such a greater emphasis on family in Italy. Mothers and babies are respected, and parents get paid time off (mothers get 5 months paid leave!). I’ve said it a million times, but the U.S. is one of roughly 5 countries in the entire world with no paid family leave (we just have a federal law that says you won’t be fired if you take time off, but you won’t get paid time away). It’s insane to me that everyone else globally understands how supporting parents and babies creates a win win for everyone, for all of society. Yet somehow we forget.
