The yearning for connection, even in those that deflect and reject it with all their might, is innate in our cellular makeup. Just as the waves must passionately crash against the shore or the leaves must one day kiss the ground in a vulnerable shedding of skin, we too are fated to make contact with another.
Our busyness can wall off intimate exchanges and strangle connections of oxygen. Don’t be too busy making a living that you forget to make a life.
The thing is, our hearts don’t lie. We cannot fake loneliness or grief we feel from keeping visceral bonding at bay. Beating against natural order is a quick decent into turmoil and exhaustion. Letting fear take the wheel stalls us from relief. We weren’t meant to do life alone. Make the attempt to dive deep into someone’s nuanced raw abyss. Seek to understand not just to be understood. Seek the magic🪄 .
