Marla Gibbs Instagram – Honoring a friend on his birthday, Whitman Mayo was known for his funny role as Grady on Sanford and Son. I knew him as a kind and gentle soul who had much depth to his craft. My daughter and I hired Whitman to teach acting at Crossroads Arts Academy and theater. Whitman brought that depth of talent and a masterful approach to teaching. He’s funny on and off stage, but more importantly, he cared about people. He left a legacy of service and teaching wherever he went, including Clark Atlanta University.
