Small business Saturday :). This day of all days feels particularly special to us. We are so proud of our little team of women who show up with excitement and passion for this company every single day, and so grateful for all of you who continue to support small and consciously made products with such love and enthusiasm. Let’s talk for a moment about what it means to be a small business. It means most of us wear too many hats, and it means an endless list of to-do’s that you will never truly get caught up on. It means learning a new skill every other day, and tackling projects that usually begin in territories totally unknown. It means growing as you go. It means tight budgets and watching every penny like a hawk. But it also means you get to watch something expand in ways that only you knew were possible, with every win feeling massive in ways that only small businesses can understand. It means knowing every single person on your team like family and looking out for them in that same way. We are never not working our butts off, and that’s just part of it. The hustle, the grind, the sweat, the JOY. So much goes on behind the scenes that only we will ever know about. And behind every mega moment, we get to smile big time, knowing it is our tiny talented team that made it happen. It’s hard to know how meaningful and how BIG small can feel until you have been there. And at Bayou we wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for being on this journey with us. Sometimes you feel glamorous, and then you look down and realize that underneath your borrowed fancy dress you’re still wearing your work boots, no socks, standing on an old rusty tractor- but with the right vision you know it can feel like a big beautiful photo shoot when really it came together in less than five minutes because you couldn’t hike up the hill any further so your resting point became your best shot.
