Rhona Mitra

Rhona Mitra Instagram – It’s coming up to 9 years since life catapulted me to the southern hemisphere to go through easily one of the most testing endeavors of my life.

I wanted to put this article on some inquiring minds radars in the hope it might open eyes up and bust some illusions regarding the reality of ‘living in the wilds at one with nature and animals’..

The life that so many wax lyrical over but never take the leap themselves so sit and speculate rather than excavate the why, how and what it takes.

Not to mention the truth of whats involved when committing to running a legitimate non-profit horse rewilding sanctuary.
(I say legitimate because there are a lot of cute wannabe cowgirl ‘animal saving’ grifters out there with oversized bedazzled cowgirl hats to be watched…)

Over the last couple of years due to so much probing and speculation I’ve started to tell the story on various forums, firstly to dispel any myths that one just lands in this situation by pure ‘luck’ or ‘privilege’ but the most essential thing to me is that the plight of the animals and the suffering that they endure at the hand of man has a platform and human conduits to speak for them.
In this case me/us @thelastarkorphanage

My quest will always be to be a voice for them.
For better or worse, in the hope we start to reverse our human psychopathy and put an end to the manufacturing of beings who become the tools of violence and suffering of everything and everyone.

My reverence for animals far eclipses anything else this human existence has or will ever offer me and I am so hugely relieved to know that.
As futile and exhausting as it can seem sometimes especially given the state of apathy and psychosis raging through humanity.

Over the years, having worked and raised money for so many NGO’s, nonprofits and animal rescues… and seeing who was and is legit…
I think it’s important for people who can’t do what conservancies and non-profits do but feel compelled to support, know who has real skin in the game and who does not.
Activism is a vocation not a fad.

I thank @plansouthamerica for giving me the platform to share.
