More storage treasures.. Ickle me circa 2000 The role before the HW Vampires sunk their teeth in… Gideons Crossing Dr Alejandra Klein.. Way Back when a girl of Indian/Irish decent could play a Latina/Jew who engaged in on screen, hypothetical, romantic dalliances with an African American co-star and no one got their knickers in a twist….. FFS When actors weren’t commodities (ish) and the industry wasnt akin to the stock market (yet) and yes I had fat lips and yes they were all MINE! #andrebraugher
Just found these original sketches in my storage unit. So much care and Work went into creating this formidable character. ‘The defiant daughter’ Good reminder at a time like this to always follow your truth and heart, even if it means breaking social constructs and going against the grain.. no matter the consequences. #sonja #underworld #rebelwithacause

When people give gifts for the dogs…. 🫥 Why the Hell would you put this fruity piece of sadomasochistic nonsense on a live creature? (To be clear this is a designer collar made for designer dogs in an Urban environment. Only predators here are the human variety) Keep the bondage for the bedroom and leave animals out of your kinky dealings. #Bringoutthegimp

It’s coming up to 9 years since life catapulted me to the southern hemisphere to go through easily one of the most testing endeavors of my life. I wanted to put this article on some inquiring minds radars in the hope it might open eyes up and bust some illusions regarding the reality of ‘living in the wilds at one with nature and animals’.. The life that so many wax lyrical over but never take the leap themselves so sit and speculate rather than excavate the why, how and what it takes. Not to mention the truth of whats involved when committing to running a legitimate non-profit horse rewilding sanctuary. (I say legitimate because there are a lot of cute wannabe cowgirl ‘animal saving’ grifters out there with oversized bedazzled cowgirl hats to be watched…) Over the last couple of years due to so much probing and speculation I’ve started to tell the story on various forums, firstly to dispel any myths that one just lands in this situation by pure ‘luck’ or ‘privilege’ but the most essential thing to me is that the plight of the animals and the suffering that they endure at the hand of man has a platform and human conduits to speak for them. In this case me/us @thelastarkorphanage My quest will always be to be a voice for them. For better or worse, in the hope we start to reverse our human psychopathy and put an end to the manufacturing of beings who become the tools of violence and suffering of everything and everyone. My reverence for animals far eclipses anything else this human existence has or will ever offer me and I am so hugely relieved to know that. As futile and exhausting as it can seem sometimes especially given the state of apathy and psychosis raging through humanity. Over the years, having worked and raised money for so many NGO’s, nonprofits and animal rescues… and seeing who was and is legit… I think it’s important for people who can’t do what conservancies and non-profits do but feel compelled to support, know who has real skin in the game and who does not. Activism is a vocation not a fad. I thank @plansouthamerica for giving me the platform to share. Full interview in link in bio #whatwedotoanimalswedotoourselves

To feel the love of people whom we love is a fire that feeds our life. The medicine of true friendship that stands the test of time as we ebb, flow and metamorphosize through this messy yet perfect human experience. And sometimes (more often than not) water runs thicker than blood…. @venetiadearden 🤍 my sister from another mister 🤍 📷- @philipvolkers

It is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in the broken world.… Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life…? Mary Oliver #rewildrememberrehabilitate @thelastarkorphanage
-there are moments when one has to choose between living one’s own life, fully, entirely, completely or dragging out some false, shallow, degrading existence that the world in its hypocrisy demands- -Wilde There is the suffering we run away from, which follows us everywhere. And there is the suffering you face directly, and in doing so become free.
The day finally came. Our last stallion (for the moment) standing… Sweet little man has been sectioned away from the herd with his best friend Mowgli for the last few months while we’ve been waiting for his second 🥚 to drop so we can perform the necessary castration to avoid him from getting trouble. The surgery went seamlessly with absolutely no stress or fuss. At the very worst, he experienced about 15 minutes of disorientation, but as you can see, he’s back with his buddy and for the next 10 days, we keep his cuts clean and the flies away and within a couple of weeks he’ll be back with the herd living his Best life again. If I have to spell it out for some people in the back, who ask why, the answer is that we are here to hold space for as many horses in real need as possible, of which there are millions, we do not promote procreation unnecessarily. there are far too many horses in Uruguay and in the world in need of this kind of care, space, love, community and sadly not enough sanctuaries like ours that facilitate this. Apart from the fact that an intact stallion gets into all sorts of trouble trying to cross fences and roads to get to mares on heat… We are so proud of this little lad. It’s an extraordinary thing to put a mammal through this kind of sedation while they are ultimately awake but feel no pain. And It’s impossible not to allow the maternal instincts to come flooding in as if he were our own son. in this respect, I know he feels continually safe and held as from the first day he arrived two weeks old and stripped from his real mum who was crudely sold for meat 🥩 along with the 6k others per month in Uruguay alone. We will always endeavor to make sure he has the safest and most loving home possible with the help from our wonderful team and for all those who support. We love you lil man Balu. A true miracle you’re with us. 💫🙏🏾💫 (FYI, the large majority of people in this culture do not antithesis their horses when they castrate them if they castrate them at all… this is considered to be ‘extra’ in these parts, especially for a horse that was discarded and would be and is deemed as ‘useless’) @thelastarkorphanage
