Today weighs heavy on my heart as we witness the verdict regarding President Donald J. Trump. It is undeniably a somber day, not only for his supporters but for anyone who believes in the principles of fairness and justice. Regardless of one’s political affiliation, the conviction of a former president is a poignant moment that underscores the gravity of our legal system. However, alongside my sadness, there is also a profound sense of concern regarding the perceived abuse of power within the Department of Justice. The integrity of our institutions must be upheld, and the impartiality of justice must never be compromised for political gain. It is imperative that we hold accountable those who betray the public trust, but equally important is ensuring that justice is administered fairly and without bias. In the wake of today’s events, let us not lose sight of the values that underpin our democracy – transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. It is my sincere hope that we can come together as a nation to address the challenges before us, reaffirming our commitment to upholding the principles upon which our country was founded. AND ANOTHER YEAR HAS COME AND GONE! 🥹🎉🍾Today, as I mark my 27th birthday, I look back on a year filled with enormous trials and personal growth. The year of 26 was marked by significant hurt, countless tears, and invaluable lessons! In those moments of near breaking…I heard a whisper from God reminding me, “I made you for a moment such as this.” I discovered strength I never knew I had. As I enter another year without my parents, their absence is CRUSHING! Yet, I’ve come to accept that my 20s will be consumed with pain, disappointments, and rebuilding, and that’s alright…I believe that every challenge will lead to something beautiful. My greatest wish this year is to get my parents home. As Winston Churchill said, “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” I embrace this new year with so much hope and resilience. In the above photo…my smile might seem like a mask, concealing the deep pain and hurt I’ve experienced. While it may not fully show the struggles I’ve faced, I hope and pray that one day this smile just might genuinely reflect the joy and contentment I so desperately seek. My journey has been tough, but I aspire for this smile to become a true expression of how I feel about life ❤️ Thank you to all of those who love me fiercely! As we approach my Mom’s resentencing, it was so vivid to revisit some of these memories with the people who were there for me during those darkest days. The show is filled with ups and downs- lots of laughs and lots of emotion. This whole show was not only therapeutic for me, but also timely in multiple ways. Although we love to laugh and joke around, my group of friends also talks a lot about the strain and stress that political division and election time can put on relationships. We work SO HARD to make sure that during these times we get closer instead of further apart. It’s no secret that our group has a wide range of opinions and beliefs, but we recognize that much like our experiences together have helped define what we know friendship to be, our childhoods and past experiences have defined our adult opinions and beliefs. Everyone has a reason that they believe what they believe. Let’s stand strong in those beliefs, but still hold tight to each other!
