Vanessa Marcil Instagram – Thank you all for your DM’s regarding MC’s injuries and loss of three close family members in the last year. He’s hanging in there and he has more surgeries coming up. He is a man who has served his country in the Iraq war & his community working 19 hour days with these injuries. He still managed to be the best hands on father, never missing even ONE school meeting, play, basketball game, batting practice, football game, parent teacher conference, father daughter dances 11 hours away, not one graduation, not one ride to school, therapy apt, school interviews while in uniform during work, Etc, etc..
He doesn’t deserve an award he says for some shit you are supposed to do and that most women do everyday but I don’t care, I’m gonna celebrate him anyway. This is a man who slept in the backseat of his truck night after night between shifts in order to do overtime to keep our son at his private school & help with legal fees to protect him from being taken from me. A man who drove weekly in our son’s youth to drop him to be with his bio dad without fail. All of your concern means everything. He’s struggling as it all catches up to these military men eventually. Keep speaking as I read it all to MC. We love & appreciate you. I want you to know you matter and even if you feel forgotten in this life as if noone knows what U do on the daily, the details it takes to raise your kids while Society doesn’t acknowledge you? I see you, salt of the earth safe parrents, single parents, career girls with no children, single dads, married people who are unhappy and have to pretend daily, married people who do the hard work to grow together, and those who are of service in the face of adversity doing it all with grace and no recognition.
I see you. The real fathers, the real mothers, the women who stand for each other, the real friends, the people who show up when it’s hard. The people who are trying to bridge the divide. The people who stand up for those who believe & look differently than you do.
