Your stories of studying in Japan and the art on your walls of your home in Hawaii. Your masterful work that hangs in museums. The only man MC would let do a 15 hour massive “trust me”FREEHAND piece straight through in ONE sitting. I was filming Hawaii 50 & Scotty Caan sent MC to “Only use Mike Ledger” 😭 When I showed up after work that night, I couldn’t believe you two were still working and so I played with your beloved son. A single dad with a story of giving up Hollywood/NYC/Japan and being flown private all over the world to tattoo rock stars to give your son a better, quiet, simple life. A peaceful one. It’s then that I realized where your heart songs were channeled from through your hands and onto our bodies. All of us lucky enough to carry your art on our skin. Being a single father was your life. After 15 hours straight of working on MC and helping him breathe through the pain you gently took hold of my hand & casually did this piece on my wrist with my son and MC’s initials intertwined signifying trust & our unwavering protection of our children together. The bond that connected all three of us as parents was the same. Willing to give up everything we have to give our kids a pure & simple life. A real life. Away from the spotlight. With joy & nature at its core. We were at war to protect our children’s innocence and we let you tattoo whatever you wanted on us both. Never asking what you were drawing. Fascinating trust. Who does that? We were just honored and we both jumped and the yes, that MF net did appear. We never regretted it and in fact we were planning our trip to come back for you to do more on MC & bringing the kids with us to Hawaii were it all began. You told us “Never ever give up” I can’t believe you are gone. We feel you with us. Forever honored to carry your art on our skin. We are reminded of you daily. As I write this your art states at me from my left wrist. You will be so missed. Holding space and love for your precious son.
