Carla Dunareanu Instagram – Seeing @banksy ‘s artwork IN REAL LIFE was surreal. From the documentary ‘Exit Through The Gift-shop’, to his exhibition in Melbourne 7 years ago that I stumbled into, I’m never not in awe at the statements he makes with his pieces. It’s hard to put into words what you feel when you view a Banksy art piece, but it toes the line between ‘complete amazement’ and ‘complete insanity’. But I suppose that’s like many other artists.
This is the first time Banksy’s pieces have been displayed in Singapore, a country that is unforgiving for unauthorised street art. And here is Banksy, the King of guerrilla artistry. He is known for creating art and having it discovered on streets around the world. Till this day, his face has never been shown in the media so no one, outside of his circle, knows what he looks like. I find that absolutely fascinating. How can one of the world’s most accomplished artists of our age still be able to hide his identity?
