Chelsea Smith Instagram – The scripture we’re referencing this #MarriageMonday is, “Follow me as I follow Jesus. Typically, we picture this verse like a train: Jesus is in front, Paul follows Him, and the people Paul is writing to are following behind him. But what if, instead, Paul is inviting us to follow with him—side by side? Rather than a hierarchy, it’s an invitation for all of us to walk together, following Jesus as one.
When I think about my nearly 25 years of marriage with this extraordinary woman, one of my favorite parts is this “side by side” dynamic—curiously following Jesus together. It’s a shared adventure, pushing each other forward, wondering together: What will Jesus ask us to do next? Where will He lead us? And enjoying that journey, together.
So, here’s the takeaway: What if today, you leaned into your partner—whether it’s your boyfriend, girlfriend, fiancé, husband, or wife? Picture that classic image of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, head to head, shoulder to shoulder. What if you leaned into your partner and considered the extraordinary opportunities Jesus is leading you into together?
