This fire is one of the most unfortunate in history due to natural factors that have propelled it and hindered firefighting efforts. When disasters happen, people band together, and the beauty of humanity shines through.
I felt it important to share something from my experience – I’ve been working with Chief Crowley and the LAFD Foundation. They are the most impressive people, with unmatched passion, heart, drive, and dedication. Chief Crowley’s care for her teams and department is astounding. Despite unprecedented winds and fires, Chief Crowley and the firefighters are doing everything they can. They face extreme conditions, including 75-100 mph winds and a continued need for funding, supplies, and water. I’ve been helping them fundraise for several years because she and they care so much – she is always trying to think of other ways to help her people and departments.
I wanted to shine a light on all of them and everyone out there helping to fight these fires. The inherent nature of a firefighter is to help others.
I wanted to share my love, gratitude, appreciation, and praise for all those risking their lives and working non-stop to help.
