Lynn Collins Instagram – I may have had a rough summer but these two special people had it much worse than me.
To keep on the track of extreme gratitude this is an appreciation post for my mother Patsy, and my son Asher.
My mom has lost two children, and I watched her live through the horrible threat of losing another one. She slept on the cot in the hospital room, rubbed my swollen feet with healing oils, held me as I cried bc the pain overwhelmed me, emptied the weird hospital commode we had to use at home, administered my IV antibiotics, made sure I ate, did the laundry, swept the floors, washed the dishes, took out the trash, and cheered for the markers of my recovery. She turned 84 in the midst of this whirlwind. Our relationship experienced radical healing this summer. Another silver lining.

I couldn’t shield him from the reality of the fragility of life. What bravery and courage he displayed every step of this journey. Even now he inspires me with his honesty, as integrating the odd adventure of the summer is still a task.
Our world has changed, our relationships have deepened, and the present moment has gained a new respect.
The doctors and nurses were not the only ones who saved my life this July.
These two angels became my wings.
