August 🤍 it’s giving motherhood and main character energy all at once and I’m still processing how lucky I am. Being back onstage is a dream and now even though I’m busier than ever I feel like for the first time since Zane was born.. I’ve found balance. I get to live and love in motherhood and partnership with Bri, knowing he holds it down while I’m away like I do for him, and also live and love in my passion and career. Dancing, telling stories… it’s so deeply a part of me that was there well before babies but was put aside for a while. I wholeheartedly wanted to dance last year but the Universe had other plans and that’s ok. Being here and now, on this journey with Esther, telling stories in a new and deeper way knowing that the dream and goal is Broadway is pretty freakin spectacular. It’s worth the waiting. It enforces the belief of “life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you”. I’m grateful for all of it, and all of what’s to come 🙏🏻
Farm days with my little adventurer 🐄🐴 Climbing hay bales, riding tractors, and making the sweetest memories. Watching him grow and explore fills my heart with so much joy. In another life, I want to raise my kids on a ranch, I feel such a connection to that lifestyle and energy and I think Zane does too 🌾💛 Thank you so much to Aunt Donna and Uncle Pete for having us out there and for the most delicious home cooked meal I’ve had in more years than I could remember. Toddler parents… are y’all ok? I miss the newborn haze 😩 Our little squish is the living and breathing Boss Baby which for his grown up self I love… as his parent … I love a little less lol. Jokes aside he is so smart and grown and I don’t know normal 2 yr old milestones but I swear (like all parents) he is a straight genius. His older siblings are constantly teaching him and now he communicates his feelings, so far we have happy sad and angry. He counts, can read all our names (and some words 🤯) AND…. He’s just this week learned how to lie 😩 A longer and hilarious story I’ll tell on stories at some point. He’s also fully aware of who Santa is now which makes this years Christmas so much fun! Update on our elves… ours all got promoted and Santa sent us 2 new elves on their first mission. There was a minor meltdown and then excitement 😅 2 is much easier than 4.
And at the same time the hardest. Hard because yes, motherhood is HARD, but also because it’s constantly moving to the next phase while I’m still wanting more of yesterday’s moments, yesterday’s discoveries, yesterdays new words or yesterday’s giggles. And when it’s an actual hard day and I’m touched out or exhausted, feel like I’m doing it all wrong or all of the above … I remind myself of words like this audio clip. It’s a fleeting moment that I have with him like this, and one day I’ll give anything to go back to even the tiredest of days where he was my little boy, and I was his everything. Motherhood is the only thing I’ve experienced that simultaneously swells my heart with pride and breaks it in the same moment. I wouldn’t change it for the world though, and I’ll soak every bit of it I can. #boymum
