Hard because yes, motherhood is HARD, but also because it’s constantly moving to the next phase while I’m still wanting more of yesterday’s moments, yesterday’s discoveries, yesterdays new words or yesterday’s giggles. And when it’s an actual hard day and I’m touched out or exhausted, feel like I’m doing it all wrong or all of the above … I remind myself of words like this audio clip. It’s a fleeting moment that I have with him like this, and one day I’ll give anything to go back to even the tiredest of days where he was my little boy, and I was his everything.
Motherhood is the only thing I’ve experienced that simultaneously swells my heart with pride and breaks it in the same moment. I wouldn’t change it for the world though, and I’ll soak every bit of it I can.
