Sharon Van Etten Instagram – @themikeyouknow and @donalmosher came into my life at such a pivotal time, on my first tour across the country that I booked myself. They took me in when I finally made it to California and gave me the confidence to keep on going. Artists and friends, they continue to inspire me.
We first met together, playing The Mollusk in San Francisco , they recorded early demos of mine during our stay there , and when I saw a documentary they were working on (October Country) about Donal’s family, I was deeply moved. I knew we would forever be connected, long after my time there circa 2007, before I ever had a proper release in the world.
I reached out to them to do my first music video, and they honored my tender little song (“For You”) and somehow managed to capture my spirit in such a short little piece of time. I knew I wanted to work with them again, with a new found confidence that they had such a big part in helping grow.
