Sur le chemin je me suis arrêtée au foyer de la charité de Ruhondo (lieu de retraite où mes parents allaient se reposer quand j’étais petite). Ce fut un plaisir de revoir toutes les sœurs et le père Fabien, qui ont gentiment accepté d’héberger un rucher/école @ofapidologie dont je suis marraine (fondé par Thierry Dufresne) qui permet d’étudier le comportement des abeilles face aux changements climatiques et d’offrir un apprentissage des métiers de l’apiculture.
Ce lieu est magique! Merci pour l’accueil! 🐝
Puis direction le lac Kivu pour une nuit à l’hôtel @cleokivuhotel qui a certainement une des plus belles vues du pays. Un panorama assez dingue qui, au petit matin, nous offre les chants harmonieux des piroguiers revenus de leur pêche nocturne. Merci pour l’accueil chaleureux et mention spéciale pour la cuisine du Chef Justin!

Day 3 – Kibuye the beauty 🩵

On the way I stopped at the Ruhondo charity home (retreat place where my parents went to rest when I was little). It was a pleasure to see all the sisters and Father Fabien again, who kindly agreed to host an apiary/school @ofapidologie which I’m godmother (founded by Thierry Dufresne) which allows us to study the behavior of bees in the face of climate change and to offer an apprenticeship in beekeeping professions.

Then head to Lake Kivu for a night at the @cleokivuhotel hotel which certainly has one of the most beautiful views in the country. A pretty crazy panorama which, in the early morning, offers us the harmonious songs of the canoeists returning from their night fishing. Thank you for the warm welcome and special mention for Chef Justin’s cuisine!
