Adrienne C. Moore Instagram – Still processing, but one thing remains true… I LOVE these people that came together to make THE BLOOD QUILT. We became FAMILY. And for a play like this, it was necessary to become so. I love Gio. People asked me time after time, how I could play Gio each night. “You must be exhausted,” they’d ask me? and yes, I was… believe me, I was. Her emotional and storied journey each performance was a load to carry, but I did it with honor. Through me, I felt like I was connecting to and healing parts of me that had been abused, traumatized and suffered life’s misfortunes. But I also experienced life’s joy and laughter through her. She was healing and hopefully, by me connecting to my pain, I was giving space for others to connect to theirs, and thus heal. This journey… this story… this character was like none other that I’ve ever played.
She allowed me to be free in so many ways, and for that I’m truly grateful.
As I said, I’m still processing, but I hold this experience and these people dear to me. Thank you to all the lovely souls pictured and not pictured here. If you were in any way a part of this show, THANK YOU for YOU. Each of you were a gift!
