When Waylon was hurt as a newborn, and I instantly became a solo parent, I wondered & worried if my son would ever know a positive male role model after the crime, violence & trauma he endured.
I need not have worried.
My best friend @heychrisrichards stepped into the role of godfather seamlessly, loving my broken-yet-blessed boy the way he had loved our dog, Miss Ellie, for the past 15 years.
He is truly a godfather – a godly man who loves Waylon and thinks of him and his needs & wants the way only a true parent does.
There are many men out there trying to be dads.
But Chris Richards puts the father in godfather so effortlessly…
And loves my sweet son so well…
That sometimes I forget I’m doing it alone.
Because even when he can’t be here,
He always reminds us that…
We are never alone.
