I just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to those who have sent birthday messages from far and wide and those nearest and dearest who I got to spend time with over the last week – all who have made my 50th birthday so, so special. It really has been made so memorable by the kindness and thoughtfulness of so many people. I am HUGELY grateful. Big 🩷 1. My favourite almond ice cream, with a candle, which reminds me of wandering Roman streets falling in love with @jonathanstadlen 2. My mum and dad who made me and who have been the most incredibly loving parents for 50 years. 3. How my birthday started on a night shoot at work until 4am where the crew still managed to find the energy to sing Happy Birthday!

So it was a delight to enjoy the last of Summer ☀️ and welcome in Autumn 🍁 in the Nash Conservatory @kewgardens this week 🍃 As well as absorbing the pleasure of the gardens I always feel like I learn something there too. These are two of the things the experts talked about in this visit: Fungi underpin all life on earth and yet it’s estimated that over 95% of fungal species remain unknown! 🍄 Fungi-based leather (which is extraordinarily lovely to touch!) is vegan friendly, cruelty free, and could help reduce the global carbon footprint. 💚 I also tried mushroom granola 🍄🟫 which is definitely a first! But events on the plane take an unexpected turn and Nikki is the only doctor on board… A really thrilling pair of episodes to film, with an absolutely amazing guest cast including @johartleyactor @nikkitachadha @gershwyn_eustache_jnr @isunetra #steveoram #paulhilton #conniehyde.
