Personal post because I need this one to live in the feed 🥹❤️ My baby girl went to her very first homecoming dance over the weekend and I just can’t believe how beautiful and grown up she is becoming. It happens so fast, guys 😭 Farris did my makeup for a Halloween party and then got herself all dolled up for homecoming in the same night. I kind of love that I will forever be randomly dressed as a cat in her first homecoming photos.

Yesterday my left rear tire blew out on the interstate. The wonderful man from road side assistance who came to help us said that it was a miracle that my car didn’t go into a tail spin. It dawned on me that what happened yesterday is actually a pretty great representation of what 2025 has felt like to me so far. I thought I would share this with you, in case you have been feeling similarly. I went into this year with my head held high, thinking that this was my year, this was going to be a GOOD year. Being a single mother to a teenager and a preteen, while also trying to maintain a business, life QUICKLY put me in check. If I’m being honest, it feels like I’ve been white-knuckling it through these last couple of months, trying desperately to not let life go into a tail spin. Life is like that sometimes, right? When things are hard, the hard things keep coming. And 2025 has been HARD. But in all of the chaos, I’m also learning to slow down and look for the good. Like my friend Allie who showed up, no questions asked, to hold Farris’s and my hands on a difficult day and ride with us to Charlotte. Like the kind man from road side assistance who showed up, changed our tire, and followed us until we got off of the interstate to make sure we were safe. And even like myself, who somehow managed to keep calm and safely guide us through four lanes of traffic while our tire was violently exploding. I’m working to trust myself and my own instincts, which is not always an easy thing to do. All this to say, although life can be hard, and sometimes it can feel like the hard keeps coming, remember to slow down and look for the helpers. And, maybe most of all, remember to keep both hands on the wheel and remind yourself how capable you really are ❤️

There are few things I love more than decorating our house for the holidays. Last year I really slacked in the decorating department and apparently my children noticed it so, after having the guilt knife twisted firmly into my back by Charlie, I made the only logical choice and decided to go all out this year, even if it means devoting the next three months to exclusively decorating and un-decorating our house 😂 honestly though I had so much fun doing this and it so much easier to accomplish then it looks! Comment PUMPKINS below to receive a DM with a link for everything you need to create the same look for your house. There’s also a pumpkin tutorial saved in my story highlights that you might find helpful. It was really simple to do and we (along with everyone on our street) have really been enjoying all of the fun/spooky/festive vibes 👻🎃 https://liketk.it/4Tlxg
Because who says we can’t make every day chores a vibe? Kids. Laundry. Work. Repeat. There’s a little @boden_clothing for every day of the week. (I’m a poet and I didn’t know it). Link to everything I’m wearing in my bio!

I’ve lived in this home for 5 years and have never had a dining room. Last weekend, all that changed. When we moved into this house, I went ahead and painted all of the trim yellow, with no real plan for what the room would eventually be. I half heartedly turned it into an office that was never used and since then it’s been a place to hold boxes and other things I was too lazy to carry out to the garage. If you have a room like that in your home, this is your sign to do something with it. The amount of joy this dining room has brought me is unreal. We no longer have to gather around the kitchen island for meals; we can sit down at a beautiful old table and have a proper meal together. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. This house is over 200 years old and I just feel like this room suits it so well. The table is probably my favorite part of the room because I found it at @antiquetobaccobarn in Asheville before it was horrifically devastated by Hurricane Helene back in September. @antiquetobaccobarn has always held such a special place in my heart and, as I wait for them to rebuild, I feel so much gratitude, sitting at this special old table, that it didn’t end up among the wreckage. When people ask me for my top design tip, it’s always to bring antiques into your space. They have an unmatched ability to bring so much soul to any room. There is not a single room in my house that does not have at least one antique piece in it (honestly there isn’t a room in my house that doesn’t have multiple antique pieces). I am also loving the way that my new @zumaimports rug grounds the room and the fun pop of color brought in by my @missyterryart floral painting. I am a huge fan of mixing old with new. Anyway, I am rambling. In summary, my new dining room is giving me life and if you have a room you aren’t using, do something with it! It will give you life too.
It’s finally witchy season and my bedroom has never felt cozier. Welcome to my happy place 🍂🧡🐌
This is your gentle reminder to do all the things that make your home feel like you. Decorate with all the things that make you and your family feel comfortable and happy. Display those family mementos. Use that weird thing you found at the flea market that you love but everyone else thinks is strange. Home is where most of us start and end every day so make all the moods and vibes exactly what you want them, regardless of what anyone else thinks because, at the end of the day, no one else has to live there but you 😉
Guyssssss! We did a thing! I am so excited to introduce OUR VERY FIRST BEDDING LINE, in collaboration with @wheatonwhaleyhome! In order of appearance: 1. The Charlie Collection 2. Good Day Sir 🫡 May we all start our Tuesday with a feather in our cap like this guy 💫 Also, this @houseofhackney wallpaper will forever be one me of my favorite things in my house 🌺🌸🌼
Doing all of the things I can think of lately to create memories with the kids and this one was one for the books. We cuddled up under the stars, ate all the snacks, watched the new Beetlejuice, and even saw a shooting star 💫 This is your gentle reminder (and mine) to set time aside to do special things like this with your children. It required minimal effort and was a night none of us will ever forget 🖤 Comment the word MOVIE to receive a DM with links to some of the things we used (bonus: everything was pretty affordable). https://liketk.it/4V67H
Because when you have a 12-year-old boy and you never know when you might hear that familiar primal yell of “mommmmmm I need a bandage,” it helps to have them close at hand. @getwelly and I have a shared love of bright colors and bold patterns, so we made a game of it. Can you find the Welly tin in each of these photos? Bet you can’t. #sponsored
