When we first moved into this house, I always dreamed of seeing it blanketed in a cloud of white at Christmastime. I also thought this would be my forever home. I spent the time that we had here making it our own. I poured so much of myself into every aspect of it’s design. So many hours peering through the wavy glass from my favorite perch in the living room. It’s 200 year old walls became my friends; it’s ghost stories felt like family. The time we spent here was full of laughter and tears, celebrations and heartbreaks. I watched my children grow here. I loved them so hard here. So many memories will be left behind. Some beautiful and some painful, but mostly beautiful. I will miss so many things about this place. I’ll miss the cozy nights spent cuddled up with my babies in front of the fire. I’ll miss the old oak tree in the corner of the property (I’ve heard it told that it’s the second oldest living thing this side of The Mississippi) and that peaceful illusion that walking into the back yard creates, like you’re all alone in the world. I’ll miss the old fig tree in the side yard that bore so much incredible fruit for us over the years. I’ll miss the way the floor boards creak beneath my feet. I’ll miss my amazing neighbors who have loved us so well. I’ll miss the sounds of my children playing in the pool. This house was so much more than just a house to me and it will forever have my heart. However, I know it’s time to move on. The kids and I are starting a new chapter next month and I have to believe it will be even more beautiful than the last one. I’m so thankful for the time we have had here and so glad I finally got to see it blanketed in snow 🤍

I have had so many people messaging me and asking when I am going to share photos of whatever amazing new historic home I decided to buy. The truth is that this house is far from that. This is a brand new house with white walls, an open floor plan, builder grade everything, and ceiling fans (gasp). This house is also the beginning of a new chapter for me. This house is me getting back on my feet. This house is a pause. A chance for me to catch my breath and exhale for a while. This house is most likely temporary but I am going to try my very best to make it my own. It’s also half the size of my old house and has exactly zero shelves so trying to stuff all of our belongings inside of it has been interesting (as demonstrated in this photo). I am beyond exhausted, my shoes are still somewhere in the pile of boxes and bags in the garage, I’m pretty sure I lost all of Charlie’s clothes in the move, but I have my babies and I have my pink sofa, so I am home 🏠 ❤️
It has been stated by my 15-year-old daughter and also some bored people on the internet that I dress like I’m from Little House on the Prairie. To them, all I have to say is “Eat your heart out Laura Ingalls” 🥔🐑✨ @christydawn #christydawnsteward
I recently had the great fortune to go on a trip to India with @marble_lotus and, let me tell you, it was the experience of a lifetime. We got to see things I never thought I would be able to see (The Taj Mahal at sunrise…how???), meet the most incredible artisans, immerse ourselves in the beautiful culture, eat the most delicious food, and make wonderful new friends along the way. I am still pinching myself and processing all of the unbelievable experiences we were able to squeeze into our time there. I will never forget it. This was @marble_lotus’s first annual Kala Yatra trip and I was so lucky to be able to attend. Kala Yatra translates to mean “artistic journey” and it more than lived up to it’s name. I left India feeling more inspired than I have ever been in my life. If you have a love for art, design, or just want to have an incredible travel experience, then this is something you truly do not want to miss. I am strongly considering going back next year because I think I left a piece of my heart behind ❤️ 2026 dates are Feb 6th-12th and I’ll put a link to sign up in my bio! If you’ve been looking for a reason to visit India, this is 100% it.
